Guidance, Supervision and examination of Postgraduate candidates

From 1997 and to date , I have supervised taught and examined more than 15 Ph.D thesis and 35 MSc thesis and dissertation in different aspect of Medical and Veterinary Medicine at Sudanese's Universities of Khartoum, Nyala, Gezira, Sudan, Alfashir and El Emam El Mahdi.

    Reviewing and Journal’s Editorial Boards

As a reviewer, I have read, criticized and reviewed manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advances and the Research Journal of Parasitology for two years. Currently I am a member in the editorial boards of the following journals:

    1.      Journal of Entomology

    2.      Journal of Pharmacology and Toxicology

    3.      Research Journal of Parasitology

    4.      Asian Journal of Scientific Research

    5.      Asian Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advances.

    6.      Nyala University Journal for Applied Sciences

    Current researches

My current research interests are focused on host-parasite relationships with special emphasis on coccidian parasites, gastrointestinal nematodes of farm animals, parasitic zoonoses and evaluation of ant-parasitic agents under Sudan conditions using different conventional and molecular tools for parasitology, pathology, epidemiology and diagnosis.

I have participated in surveys, field investigations, identification and diagnosis of parasites and parasitic diseases of farm animals from different States of the Sudan.  Knowledge of the geographical distribution, prevalence and seasonality are made available to Vets and researchers. I have contributed with about 57 articles on parasitism to direct attention to the major parasitic diseases of farm and wild animals, parasitic zoonoses and their control.

I have Strong background and demonstrated excellence in the teaching of Parasitology/epidemiology in a medical context, preferably in problem based learning environment and in a case based integrated curriculum. I possess a good ability to develop and continually improve a curriculum in the relevant area, that was reflected positively with clear evidence of outstanding scholarship in (medical) and veterinary education. I have also strong record of relevant research experience backed with a strong record of accomplishment of research productivity, including publications. No doubt that the long time I spend in university teaching and research activities, furnished me with good base for ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment and effective interpersonal and administrative skills too. I think that, from my long exposure to diversified environment of work, I have been expected to demonstrate excellence in interpersonal behaviors and be committed to effective collaboration with colleagues.

I have revised and criticized many theses and dissertations and scientific articles written by scientists in different fields. Still the following On-going Research Projects are on the pipe line:

1-     Cystic Echinococcosis of domestic animals in Central and Western Sudan.

2-      Toxoplasmosis in Human and Domestic animals in Gezira State.

3-     Prevalence and molecular genotyping of Cryptosporidium spp infecting cattle and human in Gezira State, Sudan.

4-     Morphological and molecular characterization of helminths soil- picked infection in children. Central Sudan

5-     Epidemiology and molecular characterization of Cryptosporidium spp recovered from immunocompromised patients (Kidney transplantation, HIV and Tuberculosis).

6-     Parasitological and immune-molecular diagnosis of Kala-Azar from peripheral blood buffy coat in endemic area in Sudan.

7-     Seromolecular Diagnosis of Arbovirus infection with emphasis on Dengue and Rift Valley Fever in Central Sudan.

8-     The role of PCR and LST as diagnostic epidemiological indicators for cutaneous leishmaniasis in Nile State (Sudan).
