    MY B.Sc AND M.Sc. DEGREES, WHICH OBTAINED BY ME, WERE IN CHEMICAL ENGINEERING WITH SPECIALIZATION IN SUGAR TECHNOLOGY.

     

    THE TOPIC OF MY (PH.D) WAS IN THE FIELD OF SUGAR TECHNOLOGY (STANDARDIZATION OF FINAL MOLASSES PARAMETERS and minimization of sugar losses in final molasses to increase sugar  yield) THE DOCTORATE DEGREE (PH.D) WAS FROM VORONEZH TECHNOLOGICAL INSTITUTE (RUSSIA), IN 1986.

     

    CONSEQUENT TO MY RETURN TO THE SUDAN AFTER COMPLETION OF MY STUDIES, I WORKED FOR ABOUT A YEAR WITH SUGAR PROJECT IMPLEMENTAION COMMITTEE, WHICH WAS SPONSORED BY THE WORLD BANK, (S.P.I.C). THIS COMMITTEE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR RECONSTRUCTING AND DEVELOPMENT OF SUGAR TECHNOLOGY AND PRODUCTION IN THE SUDANESE SUGAR FACTORIES AT ASSALAYA, SENNAR, ELGENAID AND NEW HALFA.

     

    IN OCTOBER 1987 I JOINED KENANA SUGAR COMPANY. THE KENANA SUGAR FACTORY IS CONSIDERED TO BE ONE OF THE WORLD LARGEST SUGAR FACTORIES IN WHICH DIFFERENT TYPES OF SUGAR ARE PRODUCED. THE FACTORY PRODUCES A RAW SUGAR, PART OF WHICH IS TREATED IN IT'S REFINERY SECTION TO PRODUCE A REFINED SUGAR OF A VERY HIGH QUALITY OF 40-50 COLOR (ICUMSA).

    IN KENANA COMPANY I WAS APPOINTED IN THE FACTORY TECHNICAL SECTION IN WHICH WE WERE SOLVING AND TRYING TO FIND OUT TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS TO DIFFERENT PROBLEMS WHICH OCCURED DURING THE PRODUCTION CAMPAIGN  . IN ADDITINONAL TO THAT WE  WERE INVOLVED AND ENGAGED IN THE FOLLOWING JOBS .

     

    1. FACTORY WORK:

     

    ·        PRODUCTION OF RAW AND REFINED SUGARS.

            *   MINIMIZATION OF SUGAR LOSSES ALTHRHOUGH THE FACTORY,     ESPECIALLY  IN THE FINAL MOLASSES.

    ·        EVALUATION OF SUGAR PRODUCTION AND PERFORMANCE OF THE FACTORY BY THE END OF THE SEASON.

     

    2. NEW PROJECTS:

     

    ·         ANIMAL FEED PRODUCTION FROM THE FACTORY BY-PRODUCTS.

    ·         PRODUCTION OF CHARCOAL BRIQUETTES FROM BAGASSE AND FINAL MOLASSES.

    ·         BIO-GAS PRODUCTION FROM FINAL MOLASSES.

     

    3. ROUTINE WORK:

     

    ·        FUTURE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES:

        ALL FUTURE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES WERE  ORIGNATING FROM THE TECHNICAL SECTION. THE PROJECTS START WITH EXPERIMENTAL WORK DEVELOPING INTO PROJECTS WHITH A FULL FEASIBILITY STUDIES.

    ·        FACTORY CHEMICALS AND TENDERING.

    ·        FACTORY REHABILITAION PROGRAMMES:

    THE TECHNICAL SECTION WAS TAKING AN INTEREST IN ALL FACTORY REHABILITATION PROGRAMMES AND WAS OFFERING ADVICE FOR ANY NEW PROCESS OR IMPROVEMENTS THAT CAN BE INCORPORATED.

     

    4. GENERAL:

     

    A) IN 1994 I WAS GIVEN AN ASSIGNMENT TO FORM AND ESTABLISH A NEW RESEARCH UNIT IN THE FIELD OF SUGAR TECHNOLOGY IN KENANA SUGAR CANE RESEARCH CENTRE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SUDAN.

     

    B) IN THE UNIVERSITY OF EL-IMAM EL-MAHADI, FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGICAL STUDIES I WAS TEACHING  SUGAR TECHNOLLGY, HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER, REACTORS DESIGN, CATALYSIS AND CATALYTIC PROCESSES AND UNIT OPERATIONS COURSES FROM 1994 TO 1996.                                      

     

    C) IN 2000 I JOINED THE GEZIRA UNIVERSITY, AS ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN THE FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY.

     

    D) IN GEZIRA UNIVERSITY I TEACH, SUGAR TECHNOLOGY, CANDY MANUFACTURING, FOOD PRECESSING, FOR UNDER GRADUATE STUDENTS. AND ADVANCED THERMAL PROCESS FOR MSC. STUDENTS.

     

    E)  I WAS THE MAIN SUPERVISOR FOR THE FOLLOWING MSC. RESEARCH WORKS:

    1.     EVALUATION OF THE PERFORMANCE OF THE EVAPORATOR STATION OF ELGUNEID SUGAR FACTORY. BY A33A MUSTAFA ALI. OCT. 2002.

    2.     STUDY OF SOME FACTORS AFFECTING SUGAR COLOUR AT ELGUNEID FACTORY. BY: GHADEIR MUBARAK AWAD.

    H) IN 2003 I WAS TRANSFERED TO THE NEWLY FOUND SUGAR INSTITUTE TO ASSIST AND PARTICIPATE IN ITS ESTABLISHMENT FOR THE BENEFIT OF EVER GROWING SUGAR INDUSTRY IN SUDAN.

     

    I)     IN 2002 I WAS SELECTED AS A HEAD OF THE TECHNICAL SUGAR COMMITTE IN THE SUDANESE STANDARDS AND METROLOGY ORGANIZATION.

    J)   IN 2004 I BECAME A MEMBER OF THE SUGAR INDUSTRY TECHNOLOGIST (SIT) ORGANIZATION, WHICH IS FOUND IN USA.

    K)1N APRIL 2005 I PARTICIPATED IN THE 64TH CONGRESS OF SIT IN DUBAI.

    L)  IN 2009 I BECAME THE DEAN OF THE SUGAR INSTITUTE.

     

     

    5. Practical training:

    ·        In 1978 I had a training job in Ramon Sugar Factory (Russia) for 12 weeks.

    ·        In 1980 I attended a training in Ramon Sugar Factory for 8 weeks.

    ·        In the University of Gezira I am a member in the following committees:

    ·        I am the head of the Sugar Industry technical committee in Sudanese Standard and metrology Organization since 2001.

    ·        I am a member in the Sudanese technical committee of sugar production from sugar beet.

    ·        Board member of Sudanese Sugar Company since 2013.

    ·        Board member of Blue Nile Sugar Company.

    ·        Production manager of beet sugar factory in Gezira State.
