This was also accompanied with a significant increase in the number of faculty, teaching assistants, supporting staff and workers of various kinds. The university has supported this development by creating many specialized departments such as the Environment Administration, to create an appealing university environment so that the University can fulfill its mission. The Informatics Administration was created in order to provide the media information for faculty, students and university workers in order to exploit the information technology in the educational process. Arabicization, Authorship and publication Administration, was created to promote the culture of Arabicization and hence to encourage translation and authorship in Arabic language.

  • The University of Gezira has entered history from the widest doors by its unique academic system, distinctive philosophy and by adoption of modern innovations and developments. Remarkable success has also been achieved in the Qualification of graduates who proved competence in their field of specialization, morally accountable, have behavior of high caliber and closely linked with issues of society. This has been achieved through practical training at field level which is considered by the university an important part of the curriculum of scientific study. All this was because of its high credibility and the clear policy adopted and pursued which reflects the meanings of the noble and lofty goals set by its philosophy.

The University of Gezira awards the following degrees:

1. Bachelor (Honors) (B.Sc, M.B.B.S, B.ed, B. of Dental Surgery, B. of Pharmacy).
2. Bachelor (General) B.Sc.
3. Technical Diploma.
4. Postgraduate Diploma.
5. Masters, (M.Sc., MA, M.ed).
6. PhD, M.D.
The University degrees in the different specializations are governed by special regulations of each faculty and Institute. These regulations were approved by the University Senate.

The Academic System »

The Academic System :

The Academic system in all faculties of the University of Gezira is the semester system. The academic year of the university consists of two semesters. The duration of the semester is normally 15 weeks and it may be extended depending on the nature of the Curricula of the faculties.
